Third and Fourth Year of Training

Acces

Being admitted to the third and fourth year of training requires the successful participation in the basic training at ddif or an equivalent training at another institute.

Working Methods

As in the basic training, personal engagement of the individual, cooperation within the plenum and the family groups are the essential components. The participants contribute with their personal topics and work in the role of client and therapist with one another.

Their personal close relations and their current families belong to the fixed topic canon within the 3rd and 4th year. Partners and family members are invited to take part in couple and family weekends.

The participants acquaint themselves with the literature of the second part of the training and deal with one theoretical question every half year, individually or in their family groups. They present their results within the plenum.

Supervision and Individual Therapy

In their third and fourth year the participants have to prove 10 hours of individual therapy with a recognised psychotherapist at least. (Costs are not included in the training fees but have to be paid by the participants themselves.)

Additionally, 25 hours of supervision (individually or with a group) of ones own therapeutic work are obligatory. Costs can be covered by the students’ earnings from their own counselling and therapeutic work.

The supervisor has to be authorized by the institute and has to give written confirmation for the hours of supervision. Supervision groups will also be offered by the institute.
