Therapy as a relational process on a basis of equal dignity

Experiential therapy within families is seen as a dynamic process between therapist and client. Although there is an asymmetrical relationship, because the therapist is the professional and gets paid for his work, equal dignity is included: the therapist gets involved with the client as a person of equal dignity with equally important experiences, problems and abilities for solving problems. The therapist is obliged to establish a personal and profound encounter of therapeutic quality.
