Chapter 2 - Criteria for Admission

Introduction

Applications can be made in the context of quota 1. and 2.a. Additionally it is possible to apply for special admittance in the context of quota 2.b.. Applicants having completed equivalent studies or part of these studies can apply for acceptance of these performed and provable results as advance education. 20 % of the places will be offered in the context of quota 2.b. as a maximum.

Quota 1

Applicants who have completed either full length (5 years) or medium length (3 years) relevant studies in the fields of psychology, pedagogics, health and social affairs, i.e. psychologists, doctors, nursery school and school teachers, nurses, social counsellors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists.

The admittance is as well based on a personal talk (at an information or application meeting), where age, maturity, motivation and professional experiences will be checked in order to assess, whether the applicant is sufficiently suitable.

Qouta 2.a

Applicants, who have completed some other than relevant university studies (of 3 years minimum), outside the fields of psychology, pedagogics, health and social affairs.

The admittance is based on a personal talk (at an information or application meeting), where age, maturity, motivation and professional experiences will be checked in order to assess, whether the applicant is sufficiently suitable enough.

Special admittance – quota 2.b

Applicants from other professional fields without a university degree might be granted a special admittance, which is based on a general assessment of their individual qualifications.

It is a precondition for the special admission, that the applicant complements his/her training with courses at a tertiary educational institution or university (i.e. an Open University, a university of applied social sciences, a higher technical college for nursing or a similar institution) in the following fields:

The admittance is as well based on a personal talk (at an information or application meeting), where age, maturity, motivation and professional experiences will be checked in order to assess, whether the applicant is sufficiently suitable.

The general judgement results from an assessment of the applicant’s prerequisites in the following fields: age, maturity, professional experience, education and other experiences.

1) Age

The applicant has reached at least 30 years of age at the beginning of the training.

2) Maturity

The applicant has by his/her life experience developed a kind of maturity that qualifies him/her to be admitted to the training. Based on a personal talk the institution decides whether the applicant is able to reflect maturely on his/her own experience of life.

3) Professional experience

At least three years of professional work with people, i.e. within the field of management, including staff management, counselling activities, recognized alternative treatments etc.

4) Education

The applicant has completed some full length or medium length studies and can prove certain knowledge in relevant psychological and therapeutical theories.

he. 5) Other Experiences

For example longer stays in developing or other countries, engagement as foster parents, voluntary social work, regular stays in adult education centres for several days, therapy of one’s own and/or supervision, both in a professional context and on an adequate scale.

Further requirements for all applicants

The applicants have to be 25 years of age at least and have to have 3 years of practical professional experience according to their education as a minimum.
Other relevant professional experiences can be accepted as educational background if they include at least 3 years of practical work with people. These can be:

These experiences can as well be gained by voluntary honorary activities, if they correspond with a 3-year full time job.

Knowledge of psychological and therapeutical theories and principles

All applicants have to have certain previous knowledge of psychological and therapeutical theories and principles.
Please note: If certain previous knowledge in psychological and therapeutical theories and principles cannot be proved by examination or course certificates the participation in a preparation course is obligatory. (It has to be completed before the beginning of the training.) Instead of this course a written paper of 5 pages ( 12 000 characters including spaces) can be prepared, if necessary. The topic will be given individually.

Certificates and deadlines

The applicants have to bring written proof that they fulfil the admittance criteria, among other things their curriculum vitae, degree certificates, course certificates as well as proof of their professional experience (i.e. employment contracts, letters of recommendation etc.) and proof of their knowledge of psychological and therapeutical theories and principles.

It has to be indicated under which quota the application is made. A verbally declared acceptance and a possibly transmitted contract are only valid when complete application documents have been handed in. These have to correspond to and fulfil the admittance criteria mentioned above. Additionally the terms of payment and deadlines indicated in the contract and subsequent letters have to be met.

Infotreffen

Es werden regelmäßig Infotreffen veranstaltet. Die Teilnahme an einem Infotreffen ist Voraussetzung für die Zulassung zur Ausbildung. Das Datum des nächsten Infotreffens wird jeweils auf der Website www.ddif.de. angekündigt. Für eine Teilnahm ist eine Anmeldung erforderlich. Die Infotreffen dauern ca. 3 Stunden und bestehen aus zwei Teilabschnitten von ca. 1,5 Stunden Dauer, die durch eine 15- bis 20-minütige Pause unterbrochen werden.

Die erste Hälfte des Treffens besteht in einer gegenseitigen Vorstellung. Ein oder zwei Vertreter bzw. Vertreterinnen des Instituts (der Ausbildungsleiter bzw. leiterin und eine Lehrkraft) stellen sich selbst vor und berichten über ihre jeweiligen Funktionen. Die Bewerber bzw. Bewerberinnen werden dazu aufgefordert, sich ihrerseits vorzustellen und ein wenig über ihre allgemeine Lebenssituation zu berichten (berufliche Situation, Familienstand usw.), ihre Motivation zur Absolvierung einer therapeutischen Ausbildung darzulegen, anzugeben, ob sie eine Therapie durchlaufen haben, und welches Hintergrundwissen sie auf dem Gebiet der Psychologie und Psycho- bzw.familientherapie besitzen.

In der zweiten Hälfte des Treffens steht die Ausbildung selbst im Mittelpunkt, und die Bewerber bzw. Bewerberinnen erhalten die Möglichkeit, Fragen zur Ausbildung und zum zugesandten Präsentationsmaterial zu stellen. Ehepartner und Ehepartnerinnen, Lebensgefährten und -gefährtinnen sowie Freund oder Freundin sind zu den Treffen herzlich eingeladen.

In der Woche nach dem Bewerbertreffen kann der Bewerber bzw. die Bewerberin erfahren, ob er bzw. sie zugelassen werden kann oder nicht.

Sollte eine gewisse Unsicherheit in Bezug auf die Eignung oder Qualifikationen des Bewerbers oder der Bewerberin bestehen, kann der bzw. die Betreffende gegen Zahlung einer Gebühr ein Klärungsgespräch mit zwei Mitgliedern des Lehrkörpers durchlaufen, in dessen Rahmen die Zulassungsmöglichkeiten des Bewerbers bzw. der Bewerberin eingehend ausgelotet werden.

Wird ein Bewerber bzw. eine Bewerberin als geeignet eingestuft, wird das Zulassungsverfahren eingeleitet und ein für beide Seiten verbindlicher Vertrag unterzeichnet. Zusammen mit dem Vertrag ist eine Erklärung über die Einhaltung ethischer Regeln gegenüber Klienten, Klientinnen, Kollegen, Kolleginnen und Einrichtungen und die Einhaltung der Schweigepflicht zu unterzeichnen, da sämtliche in der Ausbildungsgruppe und am Institut erörterten persönlichen Themen der Schweigepflicht unterliegen.

Anrechnung von Ausbildungsleistungen

Ausbildungsleistungen, die im Rahmen von gleichwertigen Ausbildungsgängen absolviert wurden, können nur dann angerechnet werden, wenn sie die für familientherapeutische Ausbildungen geltenden Qualitätsanforderungen nachweisbar erfüllen. Die Anrechnung gründet sich auf eine individuelle Stellungnahme zu jedem einzelnen Antrag.

Ausbildungsleistungen in Methodikfächern können aus anderen Ausbildungsgängen mit gleicher therapeutischer Ausrichtung angerechnet werden.

Ausbildungsleistungen in theoretischen Fächern können in dem Umfang angerechnet werden, in dem der Unterricht in dem Fach, für die eine Anrechnung von Vorleistungen beantragt wird, nicht als integrierter Bestandteil des Methodikunterrichts.
