Our Institute

ddif – German short for ‘German-Danish Institute for Family Therapy and Counseling’ – was founded in autumn 2009 and in February 2010 we announced our first training program on this website and started in 2011 with the first class.

The main characteristic of ddif is its close collaboration with Danish psycho-therapists from the former Kempler Institute of Scandinavia, who have been trained by Walter Kempler and Jesper Juul. Over the last thirty years, the Kempler Institute had been exploring, developing and teaching its own, novel approach to therapy and pedagogy. Our aim is to promote this approach in Germany and further within Europe, to train therapists and qualify them for therapy according Kempler’s and Juul’s principles.
